Why Go

This is one of the finest colonial cities in the Americas. Wander Calle del Cristo and Calle San Sebastián for shops, bars and music, and look for the blue-tinted adoquines, said to have arrived as ballast in Spanish ships.

A free trolley circles the district when it's running, but it's easy to walk, if a little hilly.
