Why Go
Ħaġar Qim and Mnajdra, a short walk apart on the south coast, are among the oldest free-standing stone buildings on earth, part of a UNESCO listing of Malta's temples. At Mnajdra, the sunrise lights the inner doorway at the equinoxes.
Protective tents cover the temples, and a visitor center explains how they were built.
