Why Go

Thousands once lived here before Venice itself rose, but malaria and silt emptied the island. Its cathedral, founded in 639, keeps glittering mosaics, and a stone chair outside is known as Attila's Throne.

A path along a canal leads from the boat landing through fields to the church.
