Why Go

The cathedral was rebuilt in Roman baroque style after the earthquake of 1667. Legend says its first church was paid for by Richard the Lionheart, shipwrecked on Lokrum on his way home from the Crusades.

Behind the altar, with Titian's Assumption, the treasury holds the gold-covered head, arm and leg of St. Blaise among more than a hundred reliquaries.
