Why Go

The museum, formed from Helsinki's design and architecture museums, shows how Finland became a design superpower in the 20th century, with Aalto's bentwood chairs, Tapio Wirkkala's glass and bold printed fabrics. The streets around it, the Design District, are full of shops selling the same classics and new work.
