Why Go

Finished in 1895 after more than 30 years of building, the cathedral holds about 8,000 people under its domes, with walls covered in icons and paintings. The much older little church of St. Minas stands beside it, and the Church of St. Catherine across the square holds a museum of Cretan icons.
