Why Go
Three generations of the Salar Jung family, who served as prime ministers to the Nizams, gathered this collection, and it opened to the public in 1951. It runs from Mughal jade and miniature paintings to European marble.
Don't miss Benzoni's Veiled Rebecca, whose marble veil seems to be cloth, or the English musical clock, where a small figure comes out to strike the hour.
Tips
- Buy the camera ticket if you plan to take photos: the fine is ₹500.
- Be at the clock a few minutes before the hour.
