Why Go

Kings rode into the city past the Barbican, a brick fortress of 1498, and through St. Florian's Gate, then down Floriańska Street, across the Main Square and along Grodzka and Kanonicza streets to Wawel.

The rest of the city walls came down in the 19th century and were replaced by the Planty, a ring of park around the Old Town.
