Why Go

The 12th-century monastery was demolished by the Soviet authorities in 1936 and rebuilt from 1997. On its outer wall, the Wall of Remembrance holds the photographs of thousands of soldiers killed defending Ukraine since 2014. In 2022, wrecked Russian tanks were put on show in the square in front.
