Why Go

The baroque Chapel of the Treasure holds the relics of San Gennaro, and huge crowds gather in May, September and December to see if his blood liquefies; if it doesn't, Neapolitans fear disaster. The cathedral also has an early Christian baptistery with 4th-century mosaics.
