Why Go

Most of the best finds from Pompeii and Herculaneum are here: the Alexander Mosaic from the House of the Faun, wall paintings, bronzes and everyday objects. The Farnese Collection includes the Farnese Bull, the largest sculpture surviving from antiquity, and the Farnese Hercules.

The Secret Cabinet shows Roman erotic art once hidden from the public.
