Why Go

During the Bulgarian National Revival, rich merchants built mansions here with bay windows, painted walls and carved ceilings. Several are museums, the finest the Kuyumdzhioglu House of 1847, now the Ethnographic Museum.

Plovdiv was European Capital of Culture in 2019, and galleries fill many of the houses.
