Why Go

Reykjavík has more than a dozen public pools, all heated with geothermal water. Laugardalslaug, the largest, has an outdoor 50-meter pool, hot tubs, a sea-water tub and waterslides. Sundhöllin downtown, from 1937, is the oldest.

Pools are cheap and open early to late, even in snow.

Tips

  • Shower without a swimsuit before you go in; it's the rule, and attendants check.
