Why Go

On June 28, 1914, Gavrilo Princip, a young Bosnian Serb, shot the heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne and his wife as their car turned at the corner beside the bridge. A month later, Europe was at war.

The museum on the corner tells the story of Sarajevo under Austria-Hungary, with the assassination at its center.
