Why Go

For centuries the only fixed crossing of the Grand Canal, the bridge rose at the commercial heart of the city. The view from its top, up and down the canal, is one of the most famous in Venice.

The Rialto market at its foot sells fruit, vegetables and, from Tuesday to Saturday mornings, fish from the lagoon.
