Why Go

The castle was the home of Poland's kings and parliament after the capital moved here around 1600. Blown up in 1944, it was rebuilt with money raised by Poles at home and abroad, and furnished with treasures saved during the war.

On Castle Square in front, Sigismund's Column of 1644 honors the king who made Warsaw the capital.
