Why Go

The castle took its four-towered shape in the 15th to 17th centuries, burned in 1811 and stood in ruins until it was rebuilt in the 1950s and 1960s. It holds exhibitions of the Slovak National Museum, including the treasury.

Its baroque garden has been replanted, and the terraces look over the Danube to the endless blocks of Petržalka and, on clear days, Austria and Hungary.
