Why Go

The gate dates from the 14th century, and its tower was raised in baroque style in 1758, topped by a statue of St. Michael slaying a dragon. Inside is a small museum of arms and the city's fortifications, and a balcony at the top.

Below it, Michalská Street, lined with cafés, runs into the old town.
