Why Go

The 13th-century palace was the seat of the city's police chief and later a jail. Today it holds Donatello's bronze David, the first free-standing male nude since antiquity, Michelangelo's drunken Bacchus and works by Cellini and Verrocchio.

It's far quieter than the Uffizi, and its courtyard is a beauty.
