Why go
Opened in 1913, Grand Central is one of the world's most beautiful train stations. The main concourse has a vaulted ceiling painted with the constellations, a famous four-faced clock above the information booth, and tall arched windows. Commuter trains to the northern suburbs still leave from here.
Tips
- Stand in opposite corners of the Whispering Gallery, the tiled arches outside the Oyster Bar, and whisper into the wall.
- The Chrysler Building is a block east, on Lexington Avenue at 42nd Street.
