Why Go

Built in the 1720s, the steps climb from the boat-shaped Barcaccia fountain to the twin towers of Trinità dei Monti. The view from the top runs straight down Via dei Condotti.

Sitting on the steps has been banned since 2019 and brings a fine. The house where the poet Keats died, now a museum, stands at their foot.
