Why Go

Before the war, Poland had the largest Jewish community in Europe, and Warsaw's was second only to New York's. The core exhibition follows it from medieval merchants to a full-size painted wooden synagogue ceiling, the Holocaust and after.

Outside stands the Monument to the Ghetto Heroes, where Chancellor Willy Brandt knelt in 1970 in memory of the ghetto uprising of 1943.
