Why Go

Prince-Archbishop Wolf Dietrich built the palace in 1606 for Salome Alt, the mother of his children. Its Marble Hall, where the young Mozart and his sister played, now holds concerts and weddings.

In The Sound of Music, the von Trapp children dance around the Pegasus Fountain and up the garden steps. The Dwarf Garden has baroque marble dwarfs.
