Why Go

The cathedral was rebuilt in the Italian style after a fire and consecrated in 1628. Mozart was baptized at its bronze font, cast in 1321, and later served here as court organist.

A bomb destroyed the dome in 1944, and it was restored by 1959. Every summer, the Salzburg Festival stages the play Jedermann on the square in front, as it has since 1920.
