Why Go

Titian's Assumption of the Virgin, unveiled in 1518, glows above the high altar, and his tomb is here, along with Canova's pyramid-shaped monument. Giovanni Bellini's triptych hangs in the sacristy.

The church, properly Santa Maria Gloriosa dei Frari, was built by Franciscan friars over more than a century.
