Why Go

Tintoretto worked here from 1564 to 1588, filling the walls and ceilings with scenes from the Bible, among them a vast, crowded Crucifixion. Mirrors are provided so you can study the ceilings without straining your neck.

It's one of the most overwhelming rooms of painting in Italy, and rarely crowded.
