Why Go

Begun in 1163, the cathedral was badly damaged when its roof and spire burned in April 2019. Restored in five years, it reopened in December 2024, its stone cleaned, its rose windows glowing and a new spire raised in the old design.

Its towers reopened for a paid climb in 2025, with a close view of the gargoyles and the city.

Tips

  • Reserve a free time slot online to skip the line, and book the towers separately.
